UN gets Palestine’s statehood bid

The UN Chief Ban Ki-Moon has received an official statehood bid from Palestine.
The letter was sent to the UN in Ramallah, on the West Bank and it says that Palestine’s government hopes that the global community will do its best to meet fair demands of the people of Palestine.
On September 23 the Authority’s leader Mahmoud Abbas will address the General Assembly on the issue.
